Dear Church Family,                                                                                                                               February 20, 2023

It gives me great honor to announce the publication of a completely revised and updated history of our beloved Nine Forks Baptist Church. This could not have happened were it not for the studious work and effort of our Church History Committee: Kay Bridges, Jane Handley, Martha Wood, and Tony Robinson. Their service in bringing our history forward reflects the challenges and victories of a committed people to see God’s glory advanced not only, through the years, but throughout the world.

As you read through the history of Nine Forks you cannot help but sense the Spirit of God guarding and guiding such a caring and loving family of God. Over the years, through its blessings and its burdens, the Lord has led and the people have followed. Since the last published history Nine Forks has grown its campus with its rebuilt gymnasium/ office building, but also with its children/ youth education building, as well as refurbished sanctuary. The Church is continually seeking ways to impact its community with the Gospel as it focuses on missions here at home and abroad. The church often partners with the local Recreational Department for outreach to children as well as partnering with other churches for community outreach.

As the years have marched on, Nine Forks Baptist Church has withstood the test of time and continues to serve as a testimony of what our Lord spoke in Matthew 5:14, “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.” To say I am proud and privileged to serve as its current Pastor is an understatement. May Nine Forks shine bright the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ until He returns and calls us home forevermore.

                                                                                                            His by grace,

                                                                                                            Stephen Owens
